Jean, can you please tell me where did you buy 4gb Ram Memory, thanks

  • FireSwordl говорит:

+FunLinux I upgraded to 4GB ram. But the 3GB limitation is NOT from
windows. I tried Ubuntu and other OSes they see 3GB too. It is a hardware
issue which I don’t know how to fix. Even my BIOS is now 1.10 — but no
    change :)

My Service Vehicle needed more computing power and smart phones don’t cut
it. I bought this Acer today and upgraded the Ram DDR3 from 1 Gig to 4
    Gigs. Here’s how. Oh it’s the D270-1998

  • lekingqc говорит:

-Have you noticed a significant performance increase? -Have you noticed a
slight battery consumption difference? Awesome video man, thanks for
    sharing!

Guys- every Windows can support more then 3,2 gig of ram. Microsoft
themselvez told it in one interview. If you want your netbook to use 4 or
even 8 gig of ram—is possible to do. Serch in google for this: unawave /
    windows-7-tipps / 32-bit-ram-barrier html?lang=EN also: bcastell /
    tech-articles / enabling-more-than-4-gb-of-ram-under-windows-7-32-bit /
Goodluck—I hope you can use your system at maximum. Read there
instruction—everything is well explained in tutorial.

  • OneCreativeNickName говорит:

Hey, so this thing takes 4GB? The specs say max 2GB of RAM.

  • Jean Beauregard говорит:

My experience has been good with the upgrade, the laptop is used mainly for
sourcing information and the laptop has not many programs on it. Video
    streams (1080) @ 1024 X 600 work quite well. Basicly a clean computer is a
fast computer. It is easy and cheap upgrade so why not.

  • Jean Beauregard говорит:

IMO Windows only needs 2 Gigs of Ram, other programs run better with more
    Ram.

  • Chris Grondin говорит:

Are all 4 gigs accessable on the preloaded OS?

  • OneCreativeNickName говорит:

Yeah, I installed the 4GB. The CCleaner shows 4GB installed. Windows shows
3GB usable. Works much better than with 1GB for sure. You will notice it.
The price between 4GB chip and 2GB chip isn’t much — 4GB cost me $18 at
    canadacomputers.

  • OneCreativeNickName говорит:

and Yes, I upgraded to Win7 Home Premium to see the 3GB of usable RAM

  • Neil Hernandez говорит:

thanks to this video, I was able to upgrade my wife’s netbook to 4 gb of
ram and and ssd drive. it’s super fast, but it does say only 2.99 gb is
usable… but I think the apps can see past 2.99gb either way we’re happy
with it and I don’t want to use any of those hacks as it could mess up your
windows kernel. btw im using windows home premium 32 bit… I could go 64
bit but people are saying they also get 2.99gb usable and not to mention…
there are NO drivers for GMA3600 on 64bit…………

  • FunLinux говорит:

In the Internet often haunts the statement a 32-bit operating system can
technically only managed a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. This is wrong and
Microsoft is even evidence itself, that with the special version of
    «Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition» it worked: 64-GB RAM Maximum …
the 32-bit version of Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition supports up
to 64 GB of RAM on x86-based computers. .. technet. microsoft. com /

  • Jean Beauregard говорит:

No haven’t upgraded the SSD, 350gigs is fine for what I going to use the
laptop for, the power supply draw would be very little difference between 2
and 4 gigs. I think the limitations where dropped by Microsoft…

  • FunLinux говорит:

All I can say is—after read this page: unawave. de / windows-7-tipps /
32-bit-ram-barrier . html ? lang= EN I figured out that it is worth truying
out that it is worth trying to remove this lock for memory and use all 4GB
of RAM. Any changes are reversable anyway—if there is wish in future to
come back. Though there is a menu which will give choice which kernel to
load at startup. I will definitily go for it.

  • cr ki говорит:

hi…has anyone else upgraded their netbook to 4GB? I have the same model
and want to upgrade to 4GB if it works. Do I need to upgrade the windows 7
from starter to some other edition because windows 7 starter only supports
    upto 2GB.

  • lekingqc говорит:

I just installed the 4GB. Didn’t update windows because I thought the N2600
processor was limited to 2GB as per intel’s website specs…
OneCreativeNickName: do you have the same processor? If so, any idea why
    Windows says 3GB usable anyway?

  • FunLinux говорит:

I think they want people to feel the difference between 1 and 2 gig when
working. But they should know definitely that 1 gig is just not enough for
Windows 7. If Windows xp needed 512 MB, so why for Windows 7 use only 1
gig—if we know for sure that every new windows require more resources in
order to run smoothly ? Probably thus way they want to reduce retail
price—they know for sure thet users can add by themselvez more ram.

  • Neil Hernandez говорит:

oh and don’t bother trying Windows 8, metro will not work … resolution is
too low and again there’s no video drivers on windows 8 or any 64bit o/s..

  • FunLinux говорит:

Jean Beauregard can you tell from your own experience—w it feels when you
used only one gig of ram and after you installed 4 gig? It is just i have
only 1 gig in my aod270 and looks like all the time it works slowly—if i
will install 4 gig—will it imroove responsivness of the system? What is
    your opinion on that?

  • FunLinux говорит:

OneCreativeNickName —can you explain about speed after you upgraded to 4
GIG—is it really noticable? Like nebook is working really quickly? Not
like it was before? No slowdowns?

  • Eric Caraballo говорит:

Neil. I had the same concern on the GMA 3600 64bit divers. There`s driver
out there that actually works. Just search on google for
    GFX_Vista_Win7_64_8.15.8.1050_Beta5

  • lastwinj говорит:

upgraded my d270-1824 with win7 basic to 2gig. huge difference. and CHEAP.
not sure why they dont ship em with 2gb minimum

  • OneCreativeNickName говорит:

Ok, great — I will try that. I have the exact same model d270-1998. Have
you thought of upgrading to SSD?

  • Jean Beauregard говорит:

It has the DDR3 memory slot and it performs well…with no issues…Make
sure it’s the same model, it’s working fine….
